Yarn Line Weft Vessel – thread

Thrown white porcelain vessel with oxide ‘line’ markings hand-painted on the outside with oxides and a satin glaze on the inside. A beech twig sits through holes at the side. A tiny oxide-stained porcelain dot is attached to the twig with wire and orange linen thread is wrapped around the twig to add a finishing touch.

The lines are inspired by the warp and weft of hand-woven textiles

This piece is a decorative vessel. It can hold water, so it could be used as a vase, but it is not suitable for food use or for the dishwasher. Clean with a duster or wipe with a damp cloth.
