This piece is made from porcelain that has been coloured with oxides and thrown on the potter’s wheel. A slot is carved into the wall of the pot to create a handle-like hole on each side. The vessel is fired with a satin speckled glaze on the inside but left unglazed on the outside to show the colour and leave it with a soft matt surface.
