Inspired by yarn cones and natural woven textiles, this piece is made from stoneware with oxides roughly mixed into the clay to give it a speckled finish with varying brown tones. The piece was thrown on the wheel and turned to form a cone-like shape. The piece is glazed with a white speckled glaze on the inside, leaving the outside with a smooth but slightly textured feel to the surface.

Thrown speckled brown stoneware vessel. This piece is made with a speckled stoneware that has been coloured with additional iron oxide which enhances the speckles in the clay. The outside is left unglazed retaining its smooth but speckled surface, whilst the inside has been glazed with a satin milky glaze. The vessel can hold water and can be used as a vase.
