Vouchers can be purchased now for throwing classes in the summer and autumn 2026.
These one-to-one classes can be tailored to your requirements and can cover throwing using porcelain or stoneware clay .
The sessions are designed to be suitable for those new to porcelain who would like to explore this fabulous material, or for those wishing to develop or improve their existing skills in throwing with any clay.
Classes are held in my studio barn on Ditchling Common. The price includes all firing and glazing of the pieces you make – any finished pieces will be glazed and fired by me at a later date, using simple glazes in use at the studio. Finished fired pieces can be collected around 8-10 weeks after the last class.

Classes for two: I have two Shimpo potter’s wheels in the studio. If you are interested in doing these throwing classes with a friend, you can book to do the sessions together at the lower rate of £55 each for a two-hour session. Please contact me separately to book classes for two people.
Follow-on sessions: Students who have attended taught throwing classes at my studio are then eligible to book to use the wheel in self-directed sessions (held on Tuesday mornings). The self-directed sessions allow you to continue to practice your skills, and make at your own pace at the studio.
Cancellation policy: If you book a date with me and then can’t make that date, let me know as soon as you can, and I will try to offer a suitable alternative date for your session. Sessions may be cancelled by you for any reason up to 10 days before the session with a full refund. For cancellations between 10 days and 2 days before the class, where I am not able to fill your booking with someone else or re-book it with you, a refund will be given, minus a cancellation fee of 25%. Unfortunately cancellations within 48hrs cannot be refunded. If I need to cancel the session for whatever reason I will contact you to offer a full refund, or a suitable alternative date if preferred.
