I try different layouts and combinations before de

I try different layouts and combinations before deciding on a final design for my assemblages. Here are three versions of layouts for one wall piece. The porcelain elements are laid out on the backing board to find the best way to group them in a way that works for me visually before I make holes in the board and attach the pieces with wire. You’ll have to come to Brighton Art Fair to see the final combination in real life.

My focus will be on wallpieces including this mixed-media assemblage made with coloured porcelain, local clay, and found sea-worn metal. This weekend the doors of @theoldforgeopenhouse op

This weekend the doors of @theoldforgeopenhouse open again and I will be there all Saturday to say hi. It’s fantastic to have work again at this ever-popular and beautifully curated @artwavefestival venue in South Heighton. Curated as a popup gallery, the venue is full of ceramics, jewellery, paintings, textiles, sculpture and more.
The event is also part of @newhavenfestival and is one of 10 venues in the Artwave Haven Trail
Location: The Old Forge, South Heighton, Newhaven, East Sussex, BN9 0JH
Remaining dates: 14/15 & 21/22 September 2024, 11am- 5.30pm.

This new wall piece is made with individual coloured and hand-modelled porcelain pieces which are fired with wire and then pinned one-by-one to dark gray coloured board.
