The piece is made from white porcelain thrown on the potter’s wheel. The vessel is high-fired and glazed inside with a transparent glaze and polished on the outside for a soft finish. A loop of copper wire forms a handle.

The work is inspired by the colours and tones of the Sussex landscape where the flint and chalk fields of the South Downs provide a distinctive backdrop.
