The piece is made from porcelain stained with copper oxide and thrown on the potter’s wheel. The vessel is high-fired and left unglazed giving it a subtle pale green colour and soft finish. A carved beech twig has been added to the top and a tiny acorn cup as a decorative element
The work is inspired by the colours and tones of the Sussex landscape where the flint and chalk fields of the South Downs provide a distinctive backdrop.
